Home-to-school transport
Many Local Authorities, even those with budget difficulties, still provide home-to-school transport services well beyond their statutory obligations.
Most are under pressure in this area, with expectations of savings and the continuing need to demonstrate Best Value.
In our experience, there may well be areas of improvement that could free up resources for use elsewhere in the education service without disrupting the safe efficient home-to-school and curricular transport for mainstream and special needs pupils.
There is also pressure on Local Authorities to come up with innovative solutions to reduce carbon emissions.
