School, department and subject reviews

External subject reviews can be extremely valuable for school self-evaluation and improvement. Highly experienced consultants with many years of inspection experience in international schools will review quality and standards and provide a report identifying strengths and areas for improvement.

Who is it suitable for?
Reviews are for any school seeking an independent evaluation of its performance. They can also be conducted for year group, a subject, department or any aspect of your school’s work such as learning and teaching quality management or pastoral care.

What is it?
Reviews will be tailored to meet your needs and can include:

  • direct observation of lessons with feedback to teachers and senior staff;
  • joint observation of lessons with senior or middle leaders;
  • discussions with teaching and support staff, pupils/students and other school stakeholders;
  • tracking processes, such as evaluation and performance management; analysing samples of pupils’ current and recent work;
  • evaluating the effectiveness of management processes, including assessment and tracking, and their impact on outcomes for pupils;
  • evaluating school documents, policies and procedures.
