The coalition government is supporting ‘outstanding’ schools to apply to become academies. ‘Good’ schools can also work towards achieving academy status.

Is becoming an academy right for your school?

Schools wanting academy status are driven by the benefits of having additional autonomy; deciding for themselves how their funds are spent and how they work with partner schools, businesses and the wider community. However, these greater freedoms also bring additional responsibilities and challenges.

What do we offer?

We offer twilight consultancy workshops for schools. These twilight workshops will enable the school’s key stakeholders to get together to explore the requirements of becoming an academy, looking at processes, financial implications and the significance to your own school. The session will be facilitated by an experienced academy consultant using our expertise of setting up over 40 academies in the last 10 years.

the ability to make an informed decision whether becoming an academy is right for your school
a clear understanding of the processes involved to set up your academy. For example: setting up an academy Trust; curriculum development; staff transfer; land transfer; creation of your vision statement; pension transfer; HR services; ICT transfer;
communications and PR to take your community and parents with you
the ability to create your own organisational timeline of who should do what, when and how
the tools to be able to build an action plan for each of the required processes and how to get the help and guidance you need along the way.
