Case study: The Academy @ Peckham

We have supported this Academy in its transition from Warwick Park School by working with the project management and design team to ensure that the curriculum and administration needs of ICT were incorporated into the building design throughout the 3 phases of the building and refurbishment programme.

We have provided a hybrid of educational and technical ICT consultancy throughout the project and managed the ICT procurement process that resulted in the opening of the new main Academy buildings in September 2004 with the successful implementation of a fully comprehensive ICT infrastructure, for both administration and Curriculum, based on the Becta model specification.

Briefly, this consisted of the entire LAN and WAN infrastructure, Servers, over 430 PCs and Apple Macs, wireless Student Laptops, Laptops for all staff and interactive tools in every Learning Space and Classroom, based on a budget of approximately £1.4M.

We worked with the Principal, Senior Management, Teaching and Support Staff to help implement changes in the way in which ICT was used, thus transforming teaching and learning throughout the new Academy.
