Design Team Integration
The importance of considering ICT at the earliest design stage is vital to ensuring that a truly embedded and integrated solution is delivered. Failure to work closely with the architect’s team, or the mechanical, electrical and furniture consultants can lead to building designs that do not meet the requirements of the ICT solution, and are unable to deliver the seamless and ubiquitous ICT provision expected.
We have considerable experience in working alongside all parties to ensure that the final design meets the needs of the vision in the following key areas:
- Architecture – It is vital that sufficient consideration is given to space planning
- Electrical Services – The location of wired data points, power sockets, speakers and AV wiring require careful co-ordination.
- Mechanical Services - The ventilation strategy is essential in ensuring that the final building is fit for purpose
- Fixtures, Furniture and Equipment – The integrated nature of technology requires a furniture solution that is planned in conjunction with the proposed ICT end user devices and M&E services.
- Building Management Systems – ICT has a key role in delivering efficiencies and learning opportunities through effective integration with the built environment
Implementation
Throughout the Implementation phase we will ensure that the integrity of the educational vision is constantly upheld, by overseeing the installation and commissioning process.
During the Implementation Stage of a project we are able to:
- deal with non-compliance issues relating to ICT
- undertake pre-delivery inspection and testing
- oversee the delivery, installation and integration of all ICT equipment and services
- undertake witness testing and commissioning
- ensure all product guarantees and warranties are provided on completion
- prepare an asset register for each school for all equipment installed
- organise training
- manage the Defects Liability period and rectification process
