The programme encourages new school partnerships and through the starter activities outlined below, schools can access a Starter grant of £250 which can be used to cover training costs.

There are four categories for teachers and schools to choose from:

SG1: Attendance at a GSP Introductory workshop
SG2: INSET by a Development Education Centre (DEC)
SG3: Introductory on-line course with school briefing
SG4: Attendance at a GSP Country Conference

You can only receive one starter grant per school.

The grant can be used to provide funding for supply cover, travel and subsistence costs for a teacher, or group of teachers, in order to facilitate attendance at a GSP Introductory workshop
