Significantly, the Leading Excellence in Classroom Practice program is a blended learning program, providing structured online collaborative learning opportunities in addition to face-to-face workshops. In developing the program, key principles underpin our approach to blended learning in order to provide a quality learning experience for our participants based on research and a solid understanding of how adults learn.
This program is a key professional learning program to support learning specialists, a new career band for teachers in the Victorian government school sector. The role of the learning specialist recognises the skills and expertise of highly effective classroom practitioners, enabling them to progress in their careers while maintaining their role in the classroom. At the same time, the program also recognises the important role principals have in creating and sustaining the conditions that will enable the learning specialist to implement their role.
