The first years in life are the most critical in human development. Evidence indicates that investing in children through early childhood development (ECD) programmes and policies – whether educational or nutritional – is one of the best investments a country can make to break the cycle of poverty and build the economy.
We believe that a holistic approach to ECD is needed to meet the multifaceted developmental needs of children in their formative years. Alongside our international development colleagues at Mott MacDonald, we are building a track record and developing models for delivering ECD interventions that integrate education; health; nutrition; water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH); and social protection.
